Many athletes will experience cramping at same point in their training. Often occurring during times of high workload, cramps are a feeling of extreme tightness that progresses rapidly into a painful “knot” that debilitates the athlete and can result in long term muscle soreness and loss of function. There are many mysteries that surround muscle cramping and just as many home remedies. Ultimately, the phenomenon of muscle cramping is very complex, and largely not understood, with there being no exact science to their treatment and prevention. There are, however, some strategies you can use to help prevent cramping.

In this episode of the strength lecture series, I demystify some of the dogma of muscle cramping and provide some common sense strategies to prevent and treat cramps.
